The journey of a wood flute maker can be different to each soul who walks the path. I have met a few and it seems it affects them all differently. Some
use a more simple approach while others like to use an advance method. Both are right. Personally I like to keep it simple
but at the same time try different things. Maybe I will try to keep the flue airway as shallow as I can to get a more mellow
sound. Or try to get the barrel as thin as I can so it resonates more. I don’t sell wood flutes and I don’t really
plan to. So I just make them for my self and give one out occasionally as a gift.
Scent of Cedar
What I desire is the scent of cedar.
The thought makes me so eager.
Visioning an artwork of beauty.
Being precise and ever so neatly.
In time this wood will have a spirit.
And enlighten those who go near it.
The scent of cedar will forever be.
A very special part of me.
