Quiet Heart and Spirit Wind was recorded in Seattle in a rather large and long hallway sometime in the
early 1980’s. He used a bamboo flute and alto flute for this meditation
style music composition. The bamboo flute was given to him as a gift. The alto flute has a mellow tone in the lower portion of its range.
Sometimes it is confused with a bass flute.
What I like about this recording is that not all of the songs are slow and meditative. There is some music that is mellow and upbeat.
This audio CD sounds quite good despite the technology of digital recording lacking back then. This was originally recorded by using a tape machine. It
is a splendid flute composition that can provide a peaceful atmosphere and tranquility in the proper setting. If you like to listen to relaxing music, this cd combo would be for you. Especially if you like bamboo flute music played by a stellar artist
He also recorded Spirit of the Tao Te Ching cd in 1996. Here he used a bass flute and percussion. I haven’t
had the chance to hear this recording yet.
