Topic: Flute talk
This week I started a new music venture. Dreams of Peace will be a very mellow and soft sounding featuring the Native American style wood flute. I just got back from a road trip from the southwest and the experience was an inspiration in itself. I’m drawing a lot of creativity from the trip and voicing it in this music CD.
I met a lot of very nice folk in New Mexico and Arizona. It is no wonder they call it the Land of Enchantment. I have been in the southwest several times in the last few years and it never gets old. There is always something new to see.
Taos was nice as ever with its beautiful scenery and the friendly locals. Albuquerque was busy as ever. I have to admit that city is too crazy for me.
I meet flute maker Marlon Magdalena from Jemez, New Mexico on this trip. He does some beautiful flute making work. His work is one of a kind. I want to buy one of his creations very soon. It would be cool to use it on the Dreams of Peace music project. You can check out Marlon’s wood flute work. Update: click to see a picture of Marlon playing one of his flutes at Coronado State Monument on June 4, 2010 for the opening reception for the Grand reopening of the painted kiva.
