Hi all, how are you doing?
After taking a few pictures of the Harvest Moon, I wondered what makes the Harvest Moon glow. I found this answer from Yahoo;
"The atmosphere of earth actually absorbs light in the blue range of visible light, thus making the moon appear orange or red. The atmosphere is also why the moon appears bigger near the horizon than it does in the middle of the sky. The atmosphere actually acts like a lens magnifying the image of the moon"
Now if you ask someone who is an elder, spiritual and wise you probably get a different answer. Science versus spiritual wisdom.
On the upcoming music project "Woodland Voices" there is a song named "Moon Glow Crossing". On our trips to the southwest one night we drove up to the top of a mesa and could see across the vast desert landscape lit with the Moon glowing from above. You can listen to a clip of
Moon Glow Crossing (short version) if you want.
Below is a picture of the Harvest Moon I took early one evening. I hope you enjoy it.
